System Information

Vitral’s A74 system is an aesthetically pleasing, thermally broken, powder coated aluminium system providing slim lines and the ability to create many types of rooflights. From a simple mono pitch through to a self supporting double pitch with hip ends, the system can also be installed vertically.

As with all Vitral systems, A74 consists of pre-manufactured fully glazed panels which reduce site installation time as well as minimising/eliminating any potential installation problems that may cause water ingress.

Each panel is also capable of opening either via manual or electronic openers without any need for additional framing. This also assists with maintaining low u values and maximises visible daylight area though the rooflight system. In respect of openers every second panel can be opening subject to design for each rooflight.

The U value for the A74 system with double glazed units is 1.6W/m2K overall (subject to project calcs) the U-value for the glass is 1.1 W/m2K mid pane, for triple glazed units the values are 1.0 W/m2K overall (subject to project calcs) and 0.7 W/m2K mid pane for the glass.

A74 has a profile height of 74mm with a visible width of 50mm, panel dimensions can be between 250mm – 2900mm high and 250mm -1196 mm wide but a maximum area of 2 m2. Single pitch can be between 15 and 90 degrees, double pitch self supporting can be between 25 and 60 degrees but can be down to 15 degrees if fully supported.

Note: panel size depends on pitch and other static conditions. We are able to provide project specific calculations to ensure the each Rooflight is manufactured within Vitral’s system parameters.

The A74 system is CE marked DS/EN14351-1.
