Equal Opportunities

Biddulph Ukelele Group - Equal Opportunities Statement

The organisers of Biddulph Ukelele Group operate an Equal Opportunities Policy irrespective of a person's age, race, sex, religion, physical or mental disability or musical talent.

Members of Biddulph Ukelele Group believe that every singer/musician performing at the weekly sessions has the right to a supportive environment, irrespective of their musical ability and style.

We try to put this into practice by:

  1. Having a beginner's session at the start of the evening.
  2. Having a policy whereby more experienced players assist/mentor beginners.
  3. Allowing all musicians the opportunity to suggest songs to be sung on the evening.
  4. Allowing all musicians to contribute with suggestions for the songbook.
  5. By having no membership fees enables people irrespective of their financial circumstances to participate.
  6. By having no admission charge enables people irrespective of their financial circumstances to participate.
  7. By providing members with a free songbook enables people of all financial circumstances to participate.
  8. By providing ukeleles for people to borrow enables people of all financial circumstances to participate.
  9. To have a range of songs available for all ages.
